LA VINA, Madera County — The community’s wastewater infrastructure is recognized in California’s official water-quality reporting system under Madera County Maintenance District No. 37 — La Vina.
The California Water Boards’ CIWQS public records identify the county as owner of the #37 La Vina wastewater treatment facility. Separately, the Madera County municipal code has a chapter addressing the district’s sewer lines, private connections and waste discharge. These records are infrastructure and regulatory information, not a notice of contamination or current water-service disruption.
Why this matters for property owners
Property buyers and residents evaluating renovations need to know whether the parcel is served by a public district sewer, a private septic system or a different arrangement. Merely living in the La Vina area does not prove a particular address can connect to District 37. Applicants should verify district boundaries, capacity, connection rules and fees with the county.
Wastewater systems are not the same as drinking-water suppliers. A sewer district record does not establish tap-water quality, and none of the cited documents reports a new violation at a residence. Property-specific questions should be directed to Madera County public works or the appropriate district administrator.
